Topic: Responsibility; The Ladder To Greatness

Focal Scripture:
Matthew 25:14-15

Wisdom Deposit: Awake, awake; put on thy strength, O Zion; put on thy beautiful garments, O Jerusalem, the holy city: for henceforth there shall no more come into thee the uncircumcised and the unclean. Isaiah 52:1

Someone has stated clearly that one of the ladders to the top in life is accepting responsibility.

There is no greatness without responsibility.

This was what God saw in David and he became a candidate for the anointing.

Now, what is responsibility?
It is rising up to the occasion. It is the state of being accountable or answerable to someone for an action or for the successful execution of a duty.

David was not the only son of Jesse his father, yet all his brothers probably abandoned their father’s work and left only him to do it.

None of them appeared to be willing to work, so the little boy David rose up to the occasion.

Responsibility means proactivity; it is not waiting to be told what to do. It is knowing the right thing to do and doing it without being told.

Responsibility means taking the initiative and the lead; it is rising up to the occasion. This is what it means to demonstrate leadership.

Beloved, make up your mind to embrace responsibility. Do not avoid responsibility or evade duty. Rise up as the occasion demands. When you do this, you are climbing up to greatness.

Taking responsibility is knowing the right thing to do, doing it at the right time and without being told.

Make up your mind to take responsibility. There’s an ability in you that needs a response.

Declare these:

1. O LORD, I ask for the grace to take responsibility daily in Jesus’ Name.
2. I refuse to be lazy in Jesus name
3. Oh Lord empower me to respond to abilities you put in me in Jesus name
